# ArtScript

> A web language and framework designed so that AI models build and change full-stack web apps with fewer tokens, retries and dollars than React, Svelte or Vue. `.art` files compile to small, dependency-free JavaScript (signals, direct DOM) plus a Node server (REST apis from models, SQLite, auth). This website is itself an ArtScript app.

Read the spec before writing code; read the edit spec when only changing existing code.

## Tools for agents

- `art mcp`: an MCP server with `art_spec`, `art_check`, `art_context` and `art_patch`.
- `art check --ai`: errors as JSON with `expected`, `actual` and `fixes`.
- `art context [Name...]`: compact context and every addressable patch path.
